My fiancé, (Dr.) Alex McDonough, is a mathematician. As a result most of the math I discuss is with him about his research. Here’s a tantalizing image and a link to view my attempts to engage with this research, which is related to the summands in a determinant calculation:

Although I pursued Statistics at the graduate level, I did double major in Statistics and Pure Math at Cal Poly. Here are the courses I took in math as an undergraduate

  • Topology
  • Abstract Algebra
  • Combinatorics
  • Real Analysis
  • Differential Equations
  • Linear Algebra
  • Calculus

In graduate school, I took only two “math” courses (the quotes are sarcastic, as I took many Statistics courses which were very mathematical):

  • Optimization Theory
  • Integration Theory
